2011 payment and NIS offer

MPC has adjusted its payment system to help you as a grower reduce costs on farm and increase returns. To allow you to do this, we have instigated a reject penalty free allowance of up to 5% KR. Commercial grade paid as premium to 5% and a strong Premium Kernel Recovery Price.

Through our own research we have found that removing obviously damaged NIS such as rat damage, black nuts, etc significantly improves NIS quality, but attempts to remove less visible defects are often not cost effective and can result in increased defect levels and shortened shelf life due to less than ideal storage conditions.

MPC believes it 2011 payment system strikes the right balance between rewarding you for quality and allowing you to reduce on farm costs.

The significant aspects of our 2011 offer are:

• The MPC notional price for NIS in the 2011 season is $3.232*/kg
• Commercial grade paid at premium prices up to 5% commercial kernel recovery
• No reject penalties for consignments with reject kernel recoveries of 5% or less
• A bonus of up to $0.15/kg of NIS will be paid for consignments that have reject kernel recoveries below 1.5%
• All NIS delivered to MPC up to and including 13th May 2011 will receive a $1.50 upfront payment at the end of the month, after the month of delivery (less the AMS levy)
• NIS delivered to MPC after 13th May will receive a $1.00 upfront payment at the end of the month, after the month of delivery (less the AMS levy)

History of increased final price:

MPC has a long history of increasing its notional price at the end of the season, as witnessed by the $0.15 extra payment for the 2010 and $0.10 in 2009. We expect the 2011 season to be no different.
